Poland,1945. Mathilde is a junior doctor working for the Red Cross to care for French casualties before they are repatriated. One day, a Polish nun comes to ask for the young woman’s help. As a rationalist, Mathilde is initially resistant to the idea of helping a group of nuns, but she finally agrees to visit the convent, where she discovers 30 Benedictines who have fallen pregnant after being raped by Russian soldiers. From then on, a relationship of trust and solidarity develops between them, even though they inhabit very different worlds.
